PARKING OPTIONS

1.  End of the day appointments - If your appointment is after banking hours (which may mean, after 4 pm, depending upon the bank) -- find a parking lot for a BANK, because you can park free. The closest bank lot would be Webster Bank (enter lot on Elm Street), Wachovia Bank after 5 p.m. (also on Elm Street), or Citizens or Bank of Southern New England (further down Church Street, past Elm).

2.  Parking on the street.

3.  Parking garages, particularly, Express Parking on Orange Street between Chapel and Connecticut Financial Center.

ORANGE EXPRESS PARKING, 96 Orange Street between Chapel and Center Street, New Haven, CT 06510.  (203) 787-6506.  The valet parking is in what used to be the old Grant department store, entrance on Orange Street. There is also parking in the lot behind the "store" -- you pass the entrance, turn right on Center Street, and you will see a chain-link fence and booth for above-ground parking. When exiting the garage, walk towards Chapel Street, turn left on Chapel and right on Church. When exiting the back lot, go out the entrance that is right on Chapel Street, turn left, right on Church. We are half-way down the block (look for 3 green awnings). NOTE: if lot is full, keep going, take a right on Church, right on Elm for Connecticut Financial Center lot (unless you find someplace better!)

CONNECTICUT FINANCIAL CENTER - this is a covered lot and you will have a short walk through the garage.  Upon entering, take first right into Lane 2.  After parking, take the elevator to "B" and follow the signs to the NewAlliance Bank. Take next set of elevators to the Lobby.  You will emerge onto the corner of Church and Elm.  Turn left in front of City Hall until you reach the 3 green awnings at 129 Church Street.  There may be an exit that is closer to 129 Church Street.

SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS

From I-91 South or North
From I-95 South or North
From Whitney Avenue heading South
From Whalley Avenue heading Southeast
From Route 34 (the Valley)

From I-91

Take Exit 3, Trumbull Street. Get in the left lane and proceed to the traffic light at the end of the exit at Orange Street. Take a left on Orange Street and continue.

If parking at Express Parking, keep going past Chapel Street; proceed as above.

If parking in Connecticut Financial Center, at the first light, take a right off Orange Street onto Grove Street.  At the second light, take a left onto Temple Street. At the first light take a left onto Elm Street staying to the right-hand side.  After the first light, take a right under the NewAlliance Bank Building (on the corner of Church & Elm) before you get to Webster Bank.   Proceed as above.

From I-95 (North Bound or South Bound)

Option 1: Take exit #48, the I-91 North exit.  Get off I-91 at exit 3, Trumbull Street.  Then follow the directions listed above for I-91.  Or Option 2:  take exit #47, downtown (Route 34).  Get into the far right lane.  Take 1st exit off Route 34, the "Downtown" exit.  Stay in the middle lane (the right lane takes a U-turn to the railroad station) and turn right when you get to Church Street.  Then just keep going down Church street. 

If you plan to park at Express Parking, turn right on Chapel Street, take next right on Orange Street.  Proceed as above.

If you plan to park in the Connecticut Financial Center, cross Chapel Street, turn right on Elm Street, and the garage entrance is on your right under the New Alliance Bank Building (corner of Church & Elm) which is before you get to Webster Bank.  Proceed as above.

From Whitney Avenue heading South

If you plan to look for a parking space:  head all the way downtown; Whitney takes a fork, and you can't continue on Church, so instead, you will be on Temple Street.  Continue to Chapel Street, turn left on Chapel (it's 2-way),

If you plan to park at Express Parking, continue on Chapel, cross Church Street, take right on Orange. Proceed as above.

If you plan to park in the Connecticut Financial Center, turn left on Church Street, and take a right on Elm Street.  The garage entrance is on your right under the New Alliance Bank Building (corner of Church & Elm) which is before you get to Webster Bank.  Proceed as above.

From Whalley Avenue:

Keep heading downtown as Whalley becomes Elm Street and you pass the New Haven Green.  If you plan to park at Express Parking, continue, cross Church Street, take right on Orange. Proceed as above.

If you plan to park in the Connecticut Financial Center, cross Church Street, and the garage entrance is on your right under the New Alliance Bank Building (corner of Church & Elm) which is before you get to Webster Bank.  Proceed as above.

From Route 34:

Take the exit for Church Street, Downtown (Exit 1).  Proceed in the direction of Downtown.  You should be on Church Street heading east.

If you plan to look for a parking space, head towards the New Haven Green.  Our office is on the right, opposite the Green.

If you plan to park at Express Parking, continue, turn right on Chapel Street just before the Green, then right on Orange. Proceed as above.

If you plan to park in the Connecticut Financial Center, continue on Church, turn right on Elm, the far side of the Green.  The garage entrance is on your right under the New Alliance Bank Building (corner of Church & Elm) which is before you get to Webster Bank.  Proceed as above.
